A man who featured in a viral video on social media wailing uncontrollably after his loaned car was damaged by NASA supporters last week on Friday has a reason to smile.

The man only identified as a Mr. Nyakundi got his loan cleared by President Uhuru Kenyatta while another philanthropist pledged to foot the repair of his car.

Interior Principal Secretary Eng. Karanja Kibicho delivered the news to the taxi driver on Thursday.

Nyakundi operates between JKIA and the city centre.

On Friday, he was caught up in the melee when NASA supporters welcomed Raila Odinga to the country from a 10-day US visit.

But the procession quickly turned into a violent exchange between the NASA supporters and police.

It is at this point that his Nissan AD was stoned and windows smashed.

His client upon seeing this escaped without paying him.

A distraught Nyakundi could not wrap his mind around the fact that his only source of income had been damaged, the thought of loan repayment notwithstanding.

He cried uncontrollably pleading with well-wishers to help him out.

Nyakundi is among scores of Kenyans who had their property damaged by rogue NASA supporters in Friday’s day-long battle between police and the protestors.
