Uhuru hires British firms that secured Trump and Brexit victories

By Pharis Kinyua: Jamhuri News

Jubilee Party led by President Uhuru Kenyatta has hired two global firms from U.K with a reputation of delivering victory in elections, The Star reports.

The party has hired Cambridge Analytica- a data mining firm based in U.K and popularly referred to as “psychological firm”.

It has also hired another British Public Relations firm; BTP Advisers which successfully managed the defunct TNA campaigns in the run up to 2013 elections where Uhuru and his team won.

Notably, Cambridge Analytica (CA), owned by American billionaire Robert Mercer and Trump’s adviser Steve Bannon, is credited with U.S President Donald Trump’s win last year in November. It also played a role in the very early stages of  “Brexit” campaign.

CA was also contracted during the famous Brexit referendum drive in U.K and succeeded in handing another win.

Describing itself as a global leader in data-driven campaigning, CA has over 25 years of working experience and has handed victory in more than 100 campaigns across the world’s five continents.

In the U.S, it has several credits below its belt for handing victory in Presidential, Congressional and Senatorial races.

So far, a team of its staff have visited the country with the aim of finding out what voters think Jubilee administration has done in the last four years, what it has not achieved and how it will achieve that.

The team from CA will in turn work with another team of PR practitioners from BTP Advisers. According to sources placed at the Office of the President, BTP has started campaign planning for Jubilee.

And internally, Jubilee has stationed 500 point men across the country with the task to popularize the party ahead of the official campaign launch.

It has also emerged that the party has another team in place to handle other campaign issues.

There is the Strategy team headed by Solicitor General Njee Muturi and will be assisted by JP Vice Chairman David Murathe, DP William Ruto’s aide Farouk Kibet and former Energy CS Davis Chirchir.

The communications team will be headed by Alfred Gitonga while resource mobilization team will be led by Equity Bank Chairman Peter Munga.

Hitherto, Munga states that his department has “enough money”.

Lastly, there is the logistics and central command team which will be headed by Uhuru’s younger brother Muhoho Kenyatta and his uncle George Gecaga.

Jubilee has a penchant for conducting high-end campaigns and engages the services of the best in the world.
