Xtian Dela, a Kenyan influencer has announced his entry into politics now eyeing Westlands parliamentary seat.
His bid has sparked a fiery debate as he seeks to become the voice of the LGBTQ community in Kenya.
In a fiery message on his social media handles, Xtian said that it is time Kenya protected the rights of the LGBTQ community in the country.
He said that Kenyans are now accustomed to living with LGBTQ member but one more step remains which is defending them publicly and constitutionally.
“Let’s be REAL…Most young people in Kenya are part of the LGBTQI community! You and I both have very amazing gay friends and we have NO issue about it!! It’s high time as Kenyans we accepted this fact and legislated laws that PROTECT them instead of criminalizing and insulting them!!..If we have no issue with them personally, why don’t we PROTECT them PUBLICLY & constitutionally?” he posed.
Xtian who doubles up as a producer said that equality should come to play for the LGBTQ community in Kenya.
“If we believe we are created equal, the love we show each other MUST also be equal,” he said adding “My LGBTQI friends who ain’t in WESTLANDS, Change your vote to Westlands and let your VOICE finally be heard by voting for me as Westlands MP.”
He launched a fundraiser channel to help him raise money for his campaigns ahead of 2022 General Elections.
He called upon like-minded people to help him get to parliament and make his case for the LBGTQ people in Kenya.
