Kalonzo allies give NASA until Wednesday midnight to name him the party’s flag bearer

Hon. Kalonzo Musyoka through his allies, is threatening to quit NASA if he’s not named the flag bearer by midnight Wednesday.

Speaking on phone to a local media house, Minority leader Francis Nyenze had earlier promised that Wiper will make a major announcement on Wednesday April 5.

“The announcement will guide the party on the way forward” Nyenze said adding that ODM must adhere to the 2013 MOU between Kalonzo and Opposition leader Raila Odinga.

Nyenze, who is a close associate of Kalonzo, said Kalonzo would not take any other position in the party. “We will not play second fiddle to anybody, let ODM honour its 2013 pledges.”

Nyenze’s remarks threw NASA into more disarray as the tag of war continued among the coalition leaders.

Wiper supporters were divided with some supporting Nyenze’s remarks and others criticizing him.

However, Wiper leader Kalonzo dismissed the sentiments and maintained that he’s in NASA to stay.  “If people leave NASA, they will leave me in NASA. The most important thing is to send Jubilee home.” Said Kalonzo

When contacted about the issue, Wiper Secretary General, Hassan Omar, urged the four NASA principles to engage directly in resolving the issue: “We committed ourselves as NASA to name our candidate by the end of March, today is the 29th of March, and now we are saying seven days, because that is where it reasonably takes us to the end of March. In fact, we are demanding that the four principals engage on this issue directly, nothing will happen until they start to engage directly.” Said Hassan
