KDF soldiers have killed an Al-Shabaab commander in Somalia. The KDF spokesman said that they were called in to reinforce Somalia National Army after the terrorists attacked their camp.
Diring the battle that ensued, KDF managed to kill the Al-Shabaab commander Bashe Nure Hassan and his lieutenant. They recovered three AK-47 assault rifles, 11 magazines, 290 rounds of ammunition and a satellite phone belonging to the militants.
“Amisom/KDF soldiers remain vigilant and will continue to relentlessly pursue the terrorists to ensure peace and security of our country Kenya and will support operations to stabilize Somalia,” Colonel Owuoth said.
Five pickup trucks mounted with heavy machine guns and other weapons belonging to Al-Shabaab were destroyed.
Both Somalia National Army and Kenya Defence Force did not incur any casualties in the battle that happened Saturday morning at 3am.
