Learn to deal with shock after Uhuru wins, Tuju tells his community

Jubilee Party Secretary General Raphael Tuju has asked the Luo community to learn how to deal with the eventuality that President Uhuru Kenyatta wins the August polls.

Terming the community where NASA chief Raila Odinga enjoys massive political support as “over-excited”, Tuju said they should accept defeat and move on with life normally without resulting to chaos to air their disappointment.

“You should be prepared to absorb the shock that comes with Uhuru defeating your son,” the JP Head underscored as the Star reports.

“It is fine if Raila wins the presidency but what about if Uhuru defeats him? What will you people do?”

He spoke in Rarieda constituency yesterday during the burial of David Odongo, the brother of former Kenya Pipeline MD George Okungu.

Tuju went ahead to hit out at Raila in one of his strongholds saying that all he does is fantasize about his Luo strongholds but fails to see that Uhuru will trounce him come August 8.

He likened the Opposition Chief to a fish swimming in a pond oblivious of the existence of a sea.

“He [Raila] is like a fish swimming in a pond, not knowing there is an ocean as well.”

A Luo by tribe, Tuju asked his fellow tribesmen to interpret politics the right way since they may need Jubilee at some point.

He said the community needs to change its perception in matters politics and not being “short-sighted” in pledging their loyalty which could consign them to oblivion when it comes to sharing of the national cake.

“Luos need to be like a giraffe. They need to look beyond the August 8 election because life must go on.”

He added he cannot be party to politics of division reminiscent with opposition.
