NASA Presidential candidate Raila Odinga could after all vie in the repeat polls if a set of fresh demands to the IEBC are met.

Raila met IEBC Chair Wafula Chebukati on Thursday at Anniversary towers.

This is after a meeting between Chebukati Raila and President Uhuru Kenyatta was pushed from today (Thursday) at 2:30 pm to a later date.

Uhuru said he is not interested in having a sit-down with Chebukati and Raila; all he wants is an election on October 26.

But Raila shortly after he emerged from Chebukati’s office said according to the Star: “If proper consultations are done, proper reforms carried out and fears addressed we will reconsider.”

And some of the demands he issued are resignation of IEBC CEO Ezra Chiloba whom he accused of bungling August 8 polls.

Raila also wants Al Ghurair pushed out of printing presidential ballot papers while French based OT-Morpho should also not be contracted.

The NASA chief also said that the repeat poll date should be pushed to a later date.

He said following Chebukati’s own confession that he may not guarantee free repeat polls, they should be pushed to a later date.

“We say that the revelations from Akombe and the chairman basically confirm our fears and reasons for pulling out and it’s now clear that there will be no free election,” said Raila.

Raila said as far as NASA is concerned, he is not part of the repeat polls because he formally wrote to IEBC and withdrew.

But the IEBC commissioners insisted his name remain on the ballot paper.

“The commissioners insisted that our names remain for no reason. This is strange because we had written formally withdrawing from the process.”

Chebukati is set to meet Uhuru next week on Monday.

He will give direction after he meets the President in the Monday meeting.

However, the first batch of Presidential ballot papers is expected to jet in on Saturday.

The Presidential ballot papers have been printed by Al Ghurair which Raila is against.
