The National Super Alliance has spelt out its next course of action in the push for electoral justice.

Co-principal and Amani National Congress boss (Musalia Mudavadi) Musalia Mudavadi said they are gearing up for a referendum.

“We will soon call for [a] referendum where we will seek to ensure that people’s power is felt.

“Jubilee intends to use its numerical strength in Parliament and this is what we want to tame,” he said on Saturday according to Daily Nation.

He spoke in his former constituency, Sabatia in Vihiga County during the funeral of Mary Muhanja who was the bridesmaid during his wedding.

He reiterated that through the People’s Assembly, they will push for a referendum and amend the constitution.

“We do not recognise the elections of August 8 and October 26.

“We want a new constitutional arrangement, electoral justice and respect for every vote cast,” he said.

So far, four county assemblies: Siaya, Homa Bay, Busia and Vihiga have approved the motion to form People’s Assemblies.

NASA hopes to rally county assemblies in approving their motion for establishment of People’s Assemblies which will turn be agitate for electoral reforms and amendment to the Constitution through a referendum.

However, this may bot be possible given that Jubilee controls about 29 county assemblies leaving NASA with 18.

Even if the 18 NASA affiliated assemblies pass the motion, they still require a majority for their bid to sail through.
