NASA supporters dismayed by Raila’s decision not to be “sworn-in”

Raila Odinga’s supporters are a dismayed lot following his refusal to take presidential oath tomorrow as earlier planned.

The opposition leader supporters’ in his home turf, Luo Nyanza early Monday morning expressed their disappointment with his refusal to take the oath.

In Migori town, cites Daily Nation, several people formed into groups around a newspaper selling point and they had low-tone discussions on Raila’s decision.

One of them said they were ready to rally behind Raila after taking oath of office.

“We were ready to have him sworn in as our president. Why chicken out?” asked Joel Omondi

“This has demoralized our resistance agenda. I will now turn my attention away from Nasa activities.”

A trader from Isebania, Rahab Matinde said he was ready to hear Raila take oath of office.

“I was ready to hear baba has been sworn in no matter what. He is the people’s president,” said Matinde.

Outspoken politician and a lawyer, Miguna Miguna too expressed his disappointment with Raila’s refusal to be “sworn-in”.

He wrote in his twitter handle: “I’ll not be at the Kasarani Stadium to witness the beautification of an atrocity and the bedecking of despots. I’ll not be at the Jacaranda Grounds to prostrate myself in surrender to fraudsters. I’ll only mourn our heroes, heroines and martyrs AFTER LIBERATION!”

Raila on Saturday said the move was to abrasive and would dent his image as a national leader in the eyes of the international community.

Before the after-thought, National Intelligence Service had recommended he be charged with Treason if he takes presidential oath.
