From the small and quiet Ogimbo village in Kisii County; hails a 26-year old pastor who has once again, sent tongues wagging about never-ending surprises from Kenyans.
The pastor only identified as Kevin, is subject of debate in both Kenya and the US after a 44-year old mother of four professed her undying love for him on live television and in the presence of her husband and family.
“I love you, baby”, said Sarah, an American women on Dr Phil’s show in the US.
Sarah was together with her husband, Keith and her parents and sister who were trying to beg her not to leave the US for Kenya to live with her newly found internet lover.
She says her husband is no longer attractive to her and she is out of love for him.
Kevin in an interview with Dr. Phil professed his love for Sarah saying he is ready to fly to US and marry her.
“Sarah is faithful, kind honest and beautiful. I love her because she speaks sweet words to me. We face-time more than five times a day and we even sext.”
In a conversation he had with Sarah’s husband via skype on November 15, Kevin told Keith that in spite of being a pastor, he believes he is not coveting his neighbour’s wife because Sarah is a gift from God.
“I love Sarah so much and I have never found a woman like her,” Kevin told Keith in the conversation.
In response, Keith told Kevin: “I do not know what Bible you are reading and if you are a pastor at all but you do not desire your neighbor’s wife.”
Kevin answered him: “I will not give up [on] this woman willingly. She is a gift from God to me and I will fight till the end to save her.”
Sarah’s mother argues that her daughter is oblivious of what she could be getting herself into by travelling to Kenya.
“Sarah does not have a clue of what she is getting herself into if she moves to Kenya,” she says.
Her sister avers Sarah is not living in reality. “She wants this to be real but she is not living in reality right now. I could never imagine my sister sexting especially being a Christian and a mother.”
Sarah’s father is worried that her daughter’s insistence on travelling to Kenya could ruin her life.
“Between sex-trafficking and the diseases that are out there she is not prone to getting immunization of any kind why should she go to a country where there are so many diseases?” he asked.
But in all this, Keith is not willing to let go of his wife to an African country that has history of lions eating human beings.
“When Sarah goes to Africa she might disappear and get eaten by lions,” said a distraught Keith on the popular US show.
It remains to be seen what happens for the Sarah and Kevin in February when she says she will travel to Kenya and finally meet her lover.
