Attorney General Prof Githu Muigai has resigned.
Prof Muigai handed his resignation letter to the President on Tuesday.
Via his official Twitter handle, President Uhuru Kenyatta confirmed receipt of the outgoing AG resignation letter.
“I have received with regret the resignation of Attorney General Githu Muigai. I thank him for his service for the last six and a half years,” said the President.
He further nominated Judge Paul Kihara Kariuki to replace Muigai.
The reason as to why he resigned is not yet known.
