COVID-19 cases hits 80,102

The number of COVID-19 cases rose to 80,102 on Thursday after 780 new cases were recorded.

The Ministry of Health said that 6,158 samples were tested in the last 24 hours.

Out of the 80,102 positive cases, 754 were Kenyans while 26 were foreigners. 460 were male and 320 were female.

The youngest case was a one-year-old while and the oldest was 94 years.

Some 552 patients recovered bringing the total recoveries to 53,526. 468 were from home-based care programme while 84 were from various health facilities. 

Sadly, 10 patients succumbed to the disease bringing the total number of deaths to 1,427.
