Forces behind Raila-Kalonzo oath taking

Forces behind Raila Odinga alleged swearing-in [www.the-star.co.ke]

The push for Raila Odinga’s swearing-in has been strenuous and controversial.

However, it expected to culminate today at Uhuru Park all thanks to but four faces that have selflessly fueled the oath plan.

NASA CEO Norman Magaya, ODM Executive Director Oduor Ong’wen, strategist David Ndii and billionaire businessman Jimmy Wanjigi, have kept the oath-taking wagon moving.

Others are Wiper CEO Jared Siso, Wiper secretary general Judith Sijeny, Kakamega Senator Cleophas Malala (ANC) and Koitamet ole Kina-a member of the swearing-in committee.

Ndii

The NASA head strategist and a renowned economist has remained head strong in the push to have Raila sworn in as the President. He has been an integral force in the establishment of NASA’s People’s Assembly which has driven the opposition coalition’s agenda.

In his advocacy for change of Kenya’s leadership, Ndii found himself at odds and was dramatically arrested while on vacation in Diani last year. He, however, remained resolute in his support for NASA.

He was steering the organizing committee that planned the events leading to today’s inauguration of Raila as the President.

Magaya

Magaya, a lawyer by profession struck to the limelight after the bungled August 8 polls where together with other legal eggheads, they put up a string case which saw the elections nullified.

Besides that, he endeared himself to opposition supporters with his strong oratory skills in articulating NASA’s agenda. Over the weekend, he shook the country when he announced that Raila will not take an oath as the people’s president; but as the President of the Republic of Kenya.

Ong’wen

The political strategist has served in Raila camp long enough to earn respect from political quarters in unrivalled measures. He has been hands-on in planning how Raila and his running mate Kalonzo Musyoka will be sworn in.

Wanjigi

Wanjig, a billionaire businessman has passed off as one of the staunch NASA supporters who have stood the test of time. His house was last year raided by a contingent of security personnel on account he is in possession of unlicensed weapons.

In spite of this, he continues to play a crucial part in supporting NASA. In the run up to August 8 polls, he is reportedly said to have bankrolled Raila’s campaign to millions of shillings.
