The Communication Authority of Kenya has shutdown Citizen TV, KTN TV, KTN News TV and NTV on all platforms.
Citizen TV was shut down on all platforms as CA disabled its ADN transmission station in Limuru while NTV has been shut down on all free to air platforms.
KTN was later switched off after the Citizen and NTV’s signal was switched off.
Yesterday, the Editor’s Guild Chairman Linus Kaikai who doubles up as the NTV Managing Director decried threats from State House.
Kaikai in a statement to newsrooms said top editors were last week on Friday summoned to State House where they were warned against airing NASA’s swearing-in ceremony at Uhuru Park.
The Chair termed this as a “brazen threat is intended to intimidate the media from performing its rightful role of informing the public on matters affecting them.”
