” I’m done with it for now” Furious Kabogo blames Jubilee party as Waititu extends lead by 12,000 votes

Kiambu governor Hon. William Kabogo called the media to deliver a message as votes were still streaming in. During the briefing, Kabogo seemed to blame someone in the Jubilee party for what preliminary results indicated as a massive defeat by Fardinad Waititu.

At 3:09 pm ET / 10:09 pm Kenyan time, Waititu was leading with 14,681 against Kabogo’s 2,240.

”I want to tell the people of Kiambu they are great people. We have come a long way, I’m their first governor and that will never change. I have done everything that is humanly possible to make Kiambu a better place. But politics have ups and downs. We tried to have free and fair nominations on Friday and it didn’t work.”

”Someone does not want Kabogo as governor of Kiambu in the next five years, and I’m saying, I’m done with it for now,” Kabogo said on the video briefing streamed live on Citizen TV.

Hon. Kabogo told reporters that he had complained about irregularities that caused Friday’s nominations to be canceled, but nothing was done to fix the loopholes.

”It has been a long journey in Jubilee and I have done my best. But since it seems like there are huge powers that need to keep me away, I’m saying, for now, I do not agree with these nominations. You’ve seen the results from the ten stations that have reported.”

Kabogo continued to blame the party, expressing his disappointment in how the whole process was conducted.

”Last night we found Waititu who probably will be the next governor of this great county, and I wish him very well because this is a very very serious job, it is not a job that you just wake up one morning and think you will be able to do it. I wish the people of Kiambu very well.”……..”we found him locked-up in a tallying center with POs, the county coordinator and the county returning officer. We reported to the police, the police came and they said there was nobody there. We went in and we found him.” He said

Kabogo said there are rumors that he is a threat to someone in the government and alleged that the party was working in cahoots with Waitutu to oust him.

”Rumors are that I am a threat to someone, I don’t know if that is true. When I went to Raphael Tuju, he and his office said they would fix the mess, they didn’t bloody fix the mess” added furious Kabogo

Hon Kabogo said that the petition is now with the party and they can do whatever they deem fit to do.

”I was in this situation in 2007 when the Hon. Michuki didn’t want me as an MP for Thika. So, my fate card is not with any human being but with God.” he said

With preliminary results indicating massive lead by Ferdinand Waititu in all stations that have so far been reported, Kabogo said that he does not believe the results would change despite being early to concede.

However, when Kabogo was asked whether he was conceding defeat by ”done with it” statement, he asked the reporters to read between the lines and get an idea how it will end but maintained that he was not conceding defeat regardless. He then proceeded to wish Waititu well as the next Kiambu governor.

Kabogo said it is only God who knows whether he will be on the ballot on August 8 polls, but furiously maintained that he believes the results have been ”cooked” from the jubilee house. He showed to the reporters what he alleged to be ballot papers from Friday’s canceled nominations.
