Kenya optimistic of holding 2018 World Economic Forum for Africa

Kenyan government has formally presented its bid to host 2018 host World Economic Forum for Africa edition.

Kenya’s Industrialization Cabinet Secretary Aden Mohammed while addressing Journalist in China on Sunday said they are optimistic.

“We are very optimistic that we will get the chance to host this premier event. We have all it takes to host it,” said the CS as told by the Star.

He has accompanied President Uhuru Kenyatta for the Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation being held in Beijing, China.

Kenya is the second African country to make the bid after Ethiopia.

Founder of the forum, Klaus Shwab, held a closed door meeting with President Uhuru Kenyatta and it was agreed that International Organization for public-private partnership sends its team to inspect Kenya’s facilities in determination of the bid to host the forum.

Last year, the forum was held in Rwanda and Kenya hopes to raise its stakes by holding a forum of its magnitude.

This year’s forum was held in Durban, South Africa.

Kenya has also made tremendous steps in marketing the country as a conference hub in Africa.
