Investment firm linked to business Mogul Chris Kirubi is set to start the construction of a school in the posh Runda estate to a tune of Sh2 billion.

Centum seeks to diversify its portfolio and venture in the education industry.

According to Nairobi News, the firm is partnering with Beirut-based Sabis Education Network.

Sabis has 16 schools spread out in 16 countries including the US, UAE and Egypt.

The new Runda School will offer world class education according to Sabis International President Carl Bistany.

“Our model is GCSE and A-level which prepares the students to conquer the world by imparting them with life-long skills. We believe that Kenyan students will have to compete globally, hence the idea of opening a world-class facility in Kenya. We shall prepare them to work and open businesses anywhere in the world,” said Bistany as further told by Nairobi News.

The school will open in September 2018. Applications have started trickling in.

“So far, we have enrolled 35 students and we hope to enroll more in coming months,” he added.

Centum CEO James Mworia said the school will have a capacity of 2, 000 students.

“The purpose-built school campus will include state-of-the-art classrooms equipped with the latest in educational technology including interactive whiteboards, a sports center, a modern performing arts theatre, a semi-Olympic pool, and extensive outdoor sports facilities,” said Mworia.

The tuition fee per year is estimated to cost Sh600, 000 ($6000).
