A manhunt for a German national Krabbe Dietter Gunther has been launched following the death of his Kenyan girlfriend Cynthia Anyango Otieno.

Anyango’s body was found lying lifeless on their bed Wednesday night. They lived in an apartment in Mtwapa.

Police reports indicate that the German national was seen leaving the apartment the following morning with two bags at 5 pm.

Before then, they are reported to have fought.

Kilifi South Sub-County Police Commander Mohammed Wako said that they have confirmed that Anyango was indeed sharing the apartment with the 58-year-old German national.

The deceased who was only 24 years old has been living alone in the apartment since December 2020 until recently when Gunther joined her.

The police boss said that when they recovered the body, “Blood was still oozing from the nose and mouth when we found it. We are looking for Gunther for questioning.

“We have circulated the details of the suspect to police stations countrywide to aid in tracing the suspect who is a person of interest as of now.”

A manhunt has since been launched with the help of an alien German card that bears the suspect’s name and other details.

He forgot to pack it as he made haste to leave the apartment following the murder of the Kenyan woman.
