Meru Senator has suffered a blow after the University of Nairobi revoked a Bachelor of Commerce degree it awarded him.

This follows joint investigations by the university’s Senate together with the Commission for University Education (CUE) where it was found that he used fake papers to get admitted to the university.

UoN’s senate met on Thursday morning where it passed the resolution to de-register the B.Com degree awarded to the MP.

Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) had blacklisted Linturi together with 105other politicians in June whose integrity is in question.

EACC submitted a list of the 106 names to the IEBC.

Linturi moved to the High Court where he sought orders blocking IEBC from locking him out of the Meru Senatorial race which he profoundly won on August 8.

EACC however, on June 30, summoned him over purported false self-declaration forms he submitted to the commission in 2013.

Before he was elected Meru Senator, he was serving as Igembe South MP.
