Police have revealed a mystery witness to two high profile accidents in the last few weeks has a criminal record.

According to DCI boss Ndegwa Muhoro Dennis Muigai Ngengi was arrested in 2014 in Diani.

He was arrested and charged at Kwale Law Court over the crime and jumped bail. An arrest warrant was issued against him.

Ngengi was arrested on Thursday.

This was a few days after Kenyans widely asked who he was.

He is the same person who witnessed the fatal October 21 chopper crash in Lake Naivasha.

He introduced himself as a “state pilot” then.

On Tuesday, he again witnessed the grisly road accident that claimed Nyeri Governor Dr. Wahome Gakuru.

Yesterday, Muhoro said according to Daily Nation: “He is being detained at one of the stations. We want to know his character: Who is this man? Even the identity we need to know…you might find he is Ugandan.”

Msamwbeni DCIO has requested he be handed over to him to answer to charges of jumping bail.

During an interview with Citizen Digital, he introduced himself as a businessman who deals in importation of goods.

He said he lives in Hurlingham.
