Gatundu South MP Moses Kuria has told NASA leader Raila Odinga to stop peddling a falsehood to Americans that Kenya is in a crisis.

The firebrand Jubilee legislator said Raila should understand when one candidate loses an election; it does not amount to there being a crisis in the country.

“Someone went to Washington to say that Kenya is in a crisis….A certain candidate losing every election is a sad, regrettable thing but cannot be termed as a crisis,” he wrote in his facebook page Saturday.

His post follows Raila’s visit to the US in the past week where in various meetings with dignitaries, he appealed for concerted help to save Kenya from alleged crisis it is in.

The former Prime Minister in a lecture at the Centre for Strategic and International Studies in Washington, DC on Thursday said Kenya is ailing from the last two polls.

He said this has put the county in crisis which can only be solved by holding fresh polls next year-February 9 and reviewing the Constitution.

But Kuria went on to explain Kenya is in no crisis.

He highlighted key sectors of the economy which continue to run without much disruption and which the US could bank on to establish if in deed there is crisis in Kenya.

“Through 2017, the shilling has remained in the Ksh100 to ksh103 to the greenback. 90 day T-Bill has hovered around 8% and CBRR around 10% throughout. Inflation stands at a healthy 5.7%. Forex reserves have held fort never falling below 5 months of import cover,” further read the post.

“So what crisis are we talking about?”

His post drew equal support from Kenyans who felt he responded accordingly to a falsehood peddled by the opposition.

In fact, some Kenyans said the country has experienced political calmness since Raila left for the US last Tuesday.

“In fact Raila absenteeism in Kenya means peace peace peace peace. May he get lost in the air while returning to Kenya,” noted Benjamin Sumukwo.

“The past one week has been very peaceful politically. That means it is Baba who always brings trouble. Nimeamini sasa,” wrote Jakababa Oyando Odhis.

Others said that the NASA leader is the crisis within his political ambition.

“Mary Karameryl said: “He himself is full of crisis in his head…I pity this old man going round the world showing his stage of menopause crisis.”

Kiplommoh wa Kiplimmos said: “Raila is sick of leadership and education deficiency. Posing for pics with international leaders won’t add a value on an ugly face. Being the first man to loose (sic) elections twice in a year is not our problem, who told him to vie??”
