The opposition coalition NASA has called off demonstrations scheduled for Tuesday, Oct 17.
Raia Odinga’s spokesman Dennis Onyango said that the coalition is taking the day off to visit supporters who have been injured during the demonstrations across the country.
“This is a temporary step to enable the coalition to attend to the supporters who were brutalized and hurt and families that lost loved ones today (Monday) after police and State-protected goons descended on protesters and Nasa leaders,” read part of the statement.
The demonstrations will, however, resume on Wednesday.
Nasa coalition has vowed to continue with the protests until all their demands are met.
The IEBC has since given in to some of Nasa’s demands, but the coalition insists that the commission must meet all.
