NASA edges closer to picking Flag bearer

NASA principals are set to go for a retreat on Monday next week to consider at least six scenarios that they think could give them victory in the August presidential election.

This is according to Daily Nation.

The six scenarios, contained in a document prepared by the technical team will guide the four principals-Kalonzo Musyoka, Raila Odinga, Moses Wetangula and Musalia Mudavadi on the best combination to send Jubilee home.

The document expounds strengths and weaknesses for each combination including six parameters including which combination can increase voter turnout in perceived opposition strongholds up to 95 percent.

Further, the document shows which combination will not depress turnout, which one can raid up to 40 percent of the vote from Jubilee areas and which one can win over 60 per cent of the 4,126,287 votes in swing counties.

Possible line-up includes Raila-Mudavadi-Kalonzo with Wetangaula taking up the job of deputy chief minister likened to deputy prime minister.

Another line-up scenario, Mudavadi-Musyoka-Odinga. Wetangula still maintains his position as deputy chief minister.

In another leaked document early this week, Raila-Kalonzo-Mudavadi line-up was revealed. It caused a lot of heat in Western Kenya prompting Kalonzo to publicly announce that no candidate has been picked as of now.

“We insist that there is no deal until there is a deal,” said the Wiper leader.

His ANC counterpart Mudavadi who spoke at Wiper Party headquarters added: “No one else will make such an announcement but the principals when a deal is finally reached.”

This is after one member of the NASA’s National Co-coordinating Committee Dr. Agnes Zani said that the Raila-Kalonzo-Mudavadi line-up would see the light of day.

Kalonzo has demanded an apology from Zani arguing that her statement was in bad taste since NASA has not agreed on who will be the candidate.
