Raila mocks Jubilee for shambolic nominations

By Pharis Kinyua: Jamhuri News

Opposition Chief Raila Odinga has hit back at Jubilee this time round, criticizing them over botched party nominations.

Speaking in Meru on Saturday together with President Uhuru Kenyatta at the burial of former Finance Minister David Mwiraria; the ODM party boss said confusion, chaos, and irregularities witnessed in Jubilee nominations were similar to ”a donkey’s fart”.

“Jubilee were laughing at ODM nominations and calling it a fiasco…The Raphael Tuju rhetoric on the good plans were as useless as donkey’s fart,” said Raila.

He hit hard at Jubilee saying a repeat of the nominations would not change anything much for the party.

He said Jubilee has inexperienced leaders who clearly lack the capacity to conduct free, fair and transparent primaries.

“It is their first time to conduct nominations. The polls have clearly revealed that JP leaders are very inexperienced about primaries,” Raila said adding, “Let them solve their mess.”

Jubilee primaries hit a snag on Friday. The exercise which was to be held across 21 out if the 45 counties passed off as a sham.

It was characterized by chaos, lack of ballot papers, and boxes in some centers as well as massive delays in some polling stations which had voters cast their ballot from as late as 2 pm.

However, President Uhuru, Jubilee Party head, took the blame saying they were overwhelmed by the huge turnout of voters in their strongholds.

The party has since announced that a repeat of the exercise will be held on Tuesday and Wednesday.

Tomorrow, Nairobi County will hold its nominations.
