A car belonging to Kenyan Security Consultant Mwenda Mbijiwe who has been missing since Saturday has been found in Murang’a.

A car resembling his was reported to have been found in Kigumo, a few metres from his home.

Tamara, Mbijiwe’s sister said the car his brother used on Saturday was hired from a police officer based at Pangani Police Station in Nairobi.

“He was to travel to our Meru rural home that evening,” she said.

Detectives from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) have stepped up investigations into his disappearance.

Mbijiwe is a former high ranking Kenya Air Force Commando who resigned and ventured into private security.

DCI detectives are currently pursuing individuals that the former Kenya Airforce Officer interacted with before he was reported missing by his family.

The security expert who is the founder of Eye On Security (Kenya) Limited cannot be reached on phone since Saturday.

Mbijiwe has tried his hand in politics but back out from his gubernatorial bid in Meru on an ODM ticket.

He dropped out of the race to support Peter Munya who was seeking to defend the seat on a PNU ticket but was ousted by incumbent Governor Kiraitu Murungi.

The ex-KDF serviceman was in 2019 arraigned in court over alleged fraud.

He was accused of fraudulently acquiring Sh150,000 from a man after convincing him that he was in a position to secure his sister a job at the United Nations (UN).
