NASA lead counsel James Orengo has warned Jubilee not to take lightly their revolution bid.

Orengo on Sunday said formation of People’s Assembly is a serious issue for them because it will oust President Uhuru Kenyatta from office.

Addressing charged NASA supporters at Jacaranda grounds in Embakasi East constituency on Sunday, Orengo said the revolution is within legal confines of the law and as such, should worry Jubilee.

“We are using the law and the Constitution in this revolution. During the Kanu regime we wanted multi-partyism, but President Daniel Moi said no. Then we went to the people – did we get multi-partyism or not?” posed the Raila Odinga’s point man according to the Star.

Last week, NASA dispatched motions to county assemblies seeking approval for formation of the People’s Assembly, an avenue pushing for radical changes in the Constitution as well as dethroning Uhuru.

Siaya, Homa Bay, Vihiga and Busia county assemblies have already passed the motion.

NASA is banking on the People’s Assembly in having a referendum conducted.

On Saturday, NASA co-principal Musalia Mudavadi said they are gearing up for a referendum.

“We will soon call for [a] referendum where we will seek to ensure that people’s power is felt.

“Jubilee intends to use its numerical strength in Parliament and this is what we want to tame,” said Mudavadi as reported by Daily Nation.

Further, Orengo reiterated they will swear in Raila if Uhuru is sworn in.

“One of resolutions in the motions passed in the county assemblies says someone elected by 30 per cent of voters cannot be recognised as the President.  Stand up firm for your right by saying enough is enough. We must reach Canaan.”
