A 40-year old man from Nkondi village in Tharaka Nithi County is planning on trekking over 500 kilometres and gift President Uhuru Kenyatta his only bull.

Duncan Mutiria said this is the only way he can thank the President for rolling out free education.

“I want to thank President Uhuru Kenyatta. I have two daughters who will go to school free of charge courtesy of Jubilee government,” he said as quoted by the Star.

Mutiria noted that there are many children from humble backgrounds who will benefit from the free education program to be rolled out in secondary schools.

His two daughters are in class eight.

“That is why I want to reward Uhuru with my only bull.” He will begin his journey to Nairobi with his bull towards State House on Sunday.

He hailed Uhuru’s administration for developing Tharaka by constructing roads.

“We have been marginalized by other regimes but Uhuru’s government has been good to us,” he added.

He described Uhuru as a humble leader. Mutiria said Uhuru walked on roads without bridges during his campaign tours in the area.

“He even used roads without bridges and accessed paths that no other president has ever visited.”

In his walk to gift the President, he will be accompanied by two other people who will carry food for the bull.

One of his daughters will accompany him to gift the President.

“I urge Tharaka leaders to help me reach the President in case I am denied access to State House,” he said.
