Well-wishers continue to trickle in to Monicah Wamaitha’s Nguirubi home in Limuru to help her raise triplets she delivered a month ago.

This comes just days after Kiambu online community contributed immensely to build her a two-roomed house.

Previously, Wamaitha, now a mother of four, was forced to share a single room with her aging mother and 90-year old grandmother.

Counseling psychologist Gladys Chania has now hired a nanny for Wamaitha to help in raising the triplets.

She says it is important to have someone help her in taking care of the triplets and getting counseling services because she is at risk of post natal depression.

“Post natal depression can kick off very fast if this kind of parent doesn’t get regular encouragement and counseling from a professional,” avers Chania.

“The nanny will help her get enough rest because children deprive mothers of sleep and it can be detrimental to the health of the mother.”

Chania also roped in the county government of Kiambu through the department of nutrition to support her nutritional needs.

“Well-wishers are very passionate in helping Wamaitha with babies’ formula but due to weight vulnerability it needs to be checked before feeding. That’s why I have brought on board the county nutrition department in Limuru sub-county to assist her,” she said.

Mary Ikonya, a nutrition officer stationed in Limuru sub-county, will guide Wamaitha through her nutrition.

“Nutrition and right feeding is key to growth of kids born as a set. Guidance on how to feed such kids on a certain age bracket and weight is quite decisive on their growth,” stated Ikonya adding Wamaitha will be getting her nutritional assistance through Kiriri Heath Centre.

Wamaitha’s plight was highlighted on social media a month ago. A funds drive to build her a home kicked off thereafter.

On Monday when over 80 volunteers thronged her compound to build her a new home, she expressed her gratitude.

“I am really humbled because I have realized that unity of purpose is something that can take us far. My life has changed in a big way and my prayer is that may God bless all those who contributed towards giving me a new life together with my kids,” she said.
