Kenyan musician Charles Kanyi popularly known as ‘Jaguar’ is a man under pressure after indications of an absolute win in Starehe constituency Jubilee primaries turned a mirage.

From tallying which was going on at Jamhuri high school, Jaguar was in the lead by a huge margin. But all of a sudden, his challenger, incumbent Starehe MP Maina Kamanda was declared the winner.

This led to the eruption of chaos as Jaguar walked out of the room deeply infuriated together with his supporters.

They protested outside the school prompting police to intervene and disperse them.

But in a statement in regard to the matter on Thursday, Jubilee Party Secretary General Raphael Tuju said there will be a repeat of primaries for the constituency.

If he wins, he will face off with activist Boniface Mwangi and billionaire Steve Mbogo all of whom have declared interest in the seat.
