President Uhuru Kenyatta has called out three Jubilee governors telling them to concentrate with service delivery and stop wading into the 2022 debacle.

Through State House Spokesperson Manoah Esipisu, Uhuru warned Kiambu Governor Ferdinand Waititu, his Murang’a counterpart Mwangi wa Iria and Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko to shelve 2022 political debate.

“President @UKenyatta tells Governors @MwangiWaIria @MikeSonko and Waititu to focus on service delivery to their counties, not misplaced attention on 2022 politics,” Esipisu said in a tweet.

Before this tweet, Uhuru while addressing mourners at Ihura stadium during the funeral service of the late multiparty hero Kenneth Matiba, asked politicians from both divides to cease the 2022 political debate.

The President said uniting the Kenyan people is and still remains the biggest part of his handshake with opposition leader Raila Odinga.

“I know there are those opposed to the handshake. We hear them in Jubilee coalition and in Opposition and we know them. But your politics can not supersede God’s plan,” said the President.

“We must bring inclusivity to this nation by all means. Don’t bring your 2022 politics in this unity and inclusively debate because we are even looking beyond that 2022 even upto 3000. Tuwache kuchimbana!” he added.

Governor Sonko in particular, has been wading through a storm over his claim that a section of Mt Kenya leaders have been holding night meetings to scuttle DP William Ruto’s 2022 presidential bid.

He first made the allegations in March during a church service in Nairobi and later during an interview with a vernacular radio two weeks later.

Sonko pointed an accusing finger at Interior Ministry PS Eng. Karanja Kibicho who he claimed was leading the “night meetings”.

Kibicho however, refuted the claims terming them unfounded and driven by malice.

Some Kenyans supported Uhuru’s warning to the three governors.

“Thanks to the president for reminding these ignorant characters to work and leave politics. They were elected to work not to be yapping,” @BernyK6 stated.

“Your Excellency, congratulations, your rebuke brings discipline and order. Leaders must remain focused and help you achieve your Big4Agendas,” Majestic Ruler said.
