University dropout famed for conning M-Pesa outlets arrested by DCI detective -VIDEO

A university dropout who is a notorious M-pesa fraudster has been arrested by DCI detectives in Eldoret.

According to Nation Media, Nixon Kipkoech is the leader of a syndicate operating in big towns within the country. He is a third year Biochemistry student but he dropped out.

Police arrested him at his residence in Mwanza Estate, Eldoret West following a public tip-off.

His two colleagues, women who have mastered the art of robbing M-pesa outlets managed to escape but police have launched a manhunt for them.

Kipkoech who has been nicknamed Salim told police that together with the two other women, they have been in possession of multiple sim cards and identity cards which they use to make fraudulent transactions.

Police are already in receipt of two fraudulent transactions one for sh100, 000 and the other sh80, 000 in Nandi town.

He had mapped out Nairobi, Eldoret and Machakos towns as his areas of trade.

Eldoret West OCPD Samuel Mutunga confirmed his arrest and urged those who have fallen prey to Salim to come forward.

“He has used several IDs to register several cards and has been using the different numbers to defraud agents,” said the OCPD.

His arrest comes days after a Niger national told a Nairobi Court that together with rogues police officers and prison wardens, they hack into Safaricom’s systems and siphon millions of money.
