Video: Police in pursuit of man seen with NASA supporters trying to shoot at a police car

Police have launched a manhunt for a man alleged to be a NASA supporter who tried to shoot at a police vehicle on Tuesday before the unofficial swearing-in of Raila Odinga at Uhuru Park.

On Thursday, the National Police Service Commission via its official twitter handle said they are pursuing the suspect who was captured by a CCTV camera in the city trying to shoot at a police car.

“We have launched a manhunt for a man captured on CCTV cameras, aiming a firearm at a police vehicle with intent to fire on Tuesday, before the NASA event began at Uhuru Park,” read the tweet.

NPSC further pledged a reward to anyone who has information that will lead to the arrest of the suspect.

“A cash reward will be offered to any person with information that could lead to his arrest.”

Yesterday, Interior CS Dr. Fred Matiang’i purported that NASA had a plot to massacre its and pin the blame on the police.

He said intel from trusted sources indicated that the act was to be televised which promoted government to take action and shut down three leading media houses; KTN, Citizen and NTV.

“Many Kenyans might not be aware of this but we can tell you there was going to be a blood-birth, a massacre or catastrophe was going to happen there,” the CS told security chiefs as quoted by the Star.

Before he made this statement, he had gazetted the National Resistance Movement (NRM) as an organized criminal group.

The notice effectively puts NRM on the same rank with other outlawed groups such as mungiki, gaza and al Shabaab.
