Waiguru to take over as vice chair for Council of Governors

Kwale Governor Salim Mvurya is poised to take over as the Council of Governors chair in the next six months.

He will be deputized by Kirinyaga Governor Anne Waiguru.

Turkana Governor Josphat Nanok has retained CoG chairmanship.

Nanok was elected on an ODM ticket. Despite his political affiliation, he is said to have received the support of other Jubilee Governors to continue serving his current term and then Mvurya takes in.

Lately, he is warming up to Jubilee administration. He has promised to work together with the government of the day.

The governors who retreated to Kwale were forced to resort to consensus. It would have been a bitter experience for elections to be conducted given the delicate balancing of the county chiefs from opposition and Jubilee.

During the retreat, chairpersons of committees within CoG were elected as follows according to Daily Nation:
