Forgive me if I’ve wronged you, Salat apologizes to DP Ruto

KANU has toned down on talks of ditching Jubilee and supporting NASA in the August 8 polls.

This after the party’s Secretary General Nick Salat apologized to Deputy President William Ruto after an earlier lash out.

Salat on Saturday asked Ruto to forgive him if he has wronged him in any way.

“Mr Deputy President, should we have wronged each other, let’s talk and agree. We should be united,” Salat said as told by the Star.

A few days before he reached out to the DP, Salat together with Party Chairman and Baringo Senator Gideon Moi led an onslaught against Ruto and even threatened to withdraw their support for Jubilee.

They accused him [Ruto] of attacking Rift Valley politicians who were supporting President Uhuru Kenyatta.

“We have called a meeting with the President to discuss the issue because it is discouraging to see elected leaders being insulted by some leaders from the Jubilee side.

“We are tired of insults and dictatorship from the DP and he should stop day dreaming of becoming President in 2022 because we have already settled on Gideon Moi who is able to change this country,” said Moi.

Salat added that: “For Jubilee to win the elections in August, they need our support, and if they are tired with our support, we can as well support other parties.”

But upon self-reflection, the party he has assured Uhuru of KANU’s support come August 8.

“I assure Uhuru that the decision we made in Kasarani stadium is binding and nobody will frighten us,” noted Salat.

Ruto and Moi have been at loggerheads for a long time over political control of the Rift Valley.

The DP has been touted as the political king in the region, something that Moi disputes strongly.
