NASA head strategist Dr David Ndii has finally spoken about his night in police custody.

He says police accorded him “respect” contrary to what many would have expected.

In response to a question on how the police treated him, he said they were civil and respectful.

“They were civil and respectful. They were just following orders,” quotes Nairobi News.

Ndii was arrested on Sunday around 5pm at Leopard Beach Resort in Diani, Kwale County.

A team of seven Flying Squad officers arrested him and later shuttled him to DCI headquarters in Nairobi the same day.

He was later taken to Milimani Law Courts where he never appeared before the judge as there were no charges preferred against him.

He was released on Sh10, 000 police bond.

His arrest drew widespread criticism on Jubilee regime.

NASA leaders led by Raila Odinga said his arrest was a plot to silence the opposition.

Via his twitter handle, Ndii on Friday told President Uhuru Kenyatta and his Deputy William Ruto to stop being “cowards” and face him.

“I have been reminded that UhuRuto are wimps cowering behind state power. Let them come out here and we face off mano y mano,” read the tweet.

However, Kenyans on Twitter did not hesitate to lash out at him. They told him to stop fighting powers that be.

“I may not like your abrasive behavior but I must also remind you these fans cheering you on, as you duel with powers that be, will not come to your aid when you are incarcerated in one of our penitentiaries,” said Crispus Wachira.

“You will be imprisoned for treason and die in those cells. Joke with your words and actions…you will regret later,” tweeted Eric Kithinji.
