Diamond mulling venturing into Kenya’s betting industry

Tanzanian Bongo superstar Diamond Platnumz is mulling to invest in Kenya’s betting industry.

He made a trip to Nairobi early this week aboard a luxurious jet. He is said to have held talks with Odibet, a Kenyan betting firm for a possible collaboration as he launches Wasafi bet.

Wasafi bet will be part of his Tanzanian franchise which has Wasafi TV, Wasafi FM and Wasafi Records.

According to sources close to him, Diamond will be launching the betting firm in the course of the year.

After the meeting with Odibet officials, Diamond’s manager Sallam Mendez according to Nairobi News donned a hoodies with Odibet inscriptions, an indication of a possible business partnership

Last year, Diamond during an interview at his Wasafi TV said that he was considering venturing into the betting industry.

 “Niko hatua za mwisho, Karibuni nafungua wasafi betting (I am in the final stages and will soon launch Wasafi bet),” he said.

He is among the richest musicians in East Africa. His business interests range from real estate to the media industry.

He owns luxurious houses in Tanzania, South Africa and Kenya

Besides betting, Diamond has also invested in real estate having bought houses in Kenya, his native Tanzania and South Africa.

Diamond also has several endorsements by leading brands in Tanzania.

Besides his meeting with Odibet officials, Diamond set tongues wagging after revealing that he hired a private jet to attend a friend’s birthday in Nairobi.

From the photos he shared, the jet is more than luxurious and befits the the status of a presidential jet.
