I am still alive, veteran Journalist Leonard Mbotela speaks after social media rumor

Veteran radio Journalist Leonard Mbotela is still alive.

On Friday, the Journalist famed for “Je, Huu ni Ungwana?” show on KBC dismissed the rumors that he passed on after a fatal road crash on Saturday last week.

He said he had forgiven whoever spread the lie on social media.

“I forgive the person who crafted and peddled the false report that I perished in a road accident. He does not know what he is doing. May God forgive him,” quotes the Star.

He said that though he has been silent by virtue that he is well known in Kenyan media circles, he is full of life.

“I thank God. I urge you to pray for me to live longer,” he said on KBC radio.

After the rumor of his death, he said he received many calls more than he has ever received in his whole life.

“International media houses all have called me to ascertain the accuracy of the online reports,” he quipped.

“I would like to confirm to KBC listeners, my fans and relatives that I Mbotela, I am alive currently speaking to you on radio.”

Shortly after he went on air, some bloggers who had written of his death took to twitter to apologize and wished him long life.
