I have nothing against Chebukati, Raila tells Bukusu nation

Opposition leader Raila Odinga in a charm offensive to Bukusu nation said he has no problem with their “son” IEBC Chair Wafula Chebukati.

Raila has remained IEBC’s biggest critic.

The poll agency is led by Chebukati and it has been under siege since bungled August 8 polls.

Though opposition has not come out directly to criticize Chebukati, it [NASA] has maintained IEBC as currently constituted cannot oversee repeat polls.

“We know you Bukusus came on August 8 and voted overwhelmingly for Baba, but your victory was stolen by computer-generated votes,” he said as quoted by the Star.

He was spoke in Bungoma in one of his rallies.

He said his time round; they will not allow their victory to be stolen like it happened last time.

“The way wananchi voted on the ground is not the same way the votes were being tallied in Nairobi by the IEBC and that’s why we do not want a repeat of the same.”

“We have seen the servers were not opened as directed by the courts and we are not fools to walk into a trap another time after they stole our victory,” he added.
