Twitter ungovernable as Raila’s son, Raila Odinga Junior takes on DP Ruto

Deputy President William Ruto has found himself on the firing line after a tweet on Saturday hitting out at Raila Odinga over his “no election call”.

Sarcastically, he described Raila as a “democrat”.

But, he questioned, why such a democratic leader has hatched a plan to sponsor violence using his supporters and family to thwart any attempts by IEBC to hold repeat polls.

“So, the democrat, Mr Odinga will sponsor violence using his supporters & family to ensure there is no IEBC & no voting in Nyanza? Surely,” read the DPs tweet.

But Raila’s son, Raila Odinga Junior was quick to respond to the jibe aimed at his father.

In a counter tweet, he said:  “This energy in Kisumu and Western is paralyzing, I can tell you categorically as family even without us. There will be no election. Bank it.”

And Kenyans on Twitter (KOT) also gave the DP a piece of their mind.

In support of Raila Odinga Jnr’s tweet, Walter Akilah noted: “So the DP, a pastor, wants an election at any cost even if its fraudulent just to feed his thirst for power?  Nebuchadnezzar!!”

“So you want to compete with Ekuru Aukot? My fren, why don’t you give way for free and fair election and save the country from sinking?” posed Kamba Pundit.

“Because the algorithm that gave Uhuru 54% is still there and that is why they are insisting on baba being there,” tweeted Collins King.

However, Ruto also enjoyed support from a section of KOT who felt his tweet was justified.

Kinywa tweeted: “ We have a problem in Kenya where people don’t want to accept the truth, that Raila doesn’t have 50%+1 which Uhuru has. Raila has malice!”

W Kenvas said: “That election was nullified, if NASA believes that Jubilee rigged, let’s meet at the ballot on 26th n (sic) prove your case.”

Keypet tweeted: “Why refuse to go to election when the court has ruled all the forms will be verified manually before the result are announced[?]”

Raila has maintained there will be no elections on October 26.

He is expected to give further directions to his supporters regarding the President repeat poll on Wednesday, eve of the Thursday polls.
