The bad blood between Starehe MP Charles Kanyi alias Jaguar and Embakasi East MP Paul Ongili popularly known as Babu Owino is visibly not ending soon.

After the resumption of Parliament yesterday from a two-month recess, Jaguar sounded a warning to Babu over his purported continued insults against the President and Interior CS Dr Fred Matiang’i.

Babu is alleged to have referred to Matiang’i as “marehemu” (the deceased) a fortnight ago during a NASA rally in Baba Dogo.

Jaguar said they will not entertain leaders who insult others and seek refuge in the National Assembly for fear of arrest.

“We are warning some of our leaders who use Parliament as a hiding den after hurling insults to Uhuru and Matiang’i. We are now back to business and will not tolerate jokers,” charged Jaguar according to the Star.

Last week on Wednesday, Babu in a facebook post suggested he would spent the night in Parliament after receiving reports police officers were waiting for him outside Parliament to arrest him.

“They want to arrest me but I don’t think I will get out. If matters worsen, I will spend the night here,” read his post in part before adding, “This is total witch-hunt. An abuse is not a crime. That’s a civil matter. If Matiang’i feels I abused him let him proceed to a civil court instead of using police to round us up.”

But Jaguar in dissenting opinion said they will not hesitate to handle over anyone to insults leaders to the police.

“If they continue insulting Uhuru’s administration, we will be smoking them out of Parliament and handing them over to the police,” noted the Starehe MP.

Last year, the two MPs engaged in a brawl reportedly inspired by Babu’s derogatory statement during a NASA rally in Dagoretti North where he referred to the President as “mtoto wa mbwa”.
