A flashy city lawyer is calling for the arrest and prosecution of President Uhuru Kenyatta’s press team that manages his twitter account.
Lawyer Donald Kipkorir claims he was insulted through tweets posted by the team.
PSCU is the official communication unit of the President’s office. It informs Kenyans of the President’s undertakings daily as well as share his official photos.
The fiasco started when Kipkorir called out on Nariobi Governor Mike Sonko and his Deputy Polycarp Igathe to check on mushrooming of kiosks , matatus and mitumba stalls in the high-end Karen Estate.
In a tweet, he said: “Your Excellencies Gov. @MikeSonko & Dep. Gov @IgathePolycarp , when we moved to Karen, we thought we were climbing up Maslow Hierarchy … But what are kiosks, matatus & mitumba clothes doing here? Where is our Masterplan? Kenya is a Capitalist State. Let Karen be Karen,” he said in his tweet.
But in haste, PSCU replied to Kipkorir using the hash tag “slayqueen”.
“Well #SlayQueenLawyer ama ni #SocialiteLawyer got his match @ahmednasirlaw @kipmurkomen @OleItumbi,” retweeted PSCU.
This tweet did not go down very well with Kenyans who called out the President’s press unit to delete the reply and apologize.
“We apologize for the tweet that appeared on our timeline. We agree it was inappropriate. It has been deleted. Thanks for pointing it out. Administrative action has been taken,” read a different tweet from PSCU.
But Kipkorir would hear none of it.
He said in another tweet after the apology by PSCU: “Keriako Tobiko @ODPP_KE , Halakhe Wako @EACCKenya & @NziokaWaita … Demanding you take action against the person who in violation of Chapter 6 Of our Constitution & Public Officer Ethics Act used @PSCU_Digital to abuse me: abuse of office, corruption & denigrating Public office.”
