The memories of a glamorous wedding are one of the things that remain in the minds of two lovebirds tying the knot.
But for Terry Gobanga, all she remembers about her wedding is a harrowing tale in the hands of men-turned-beasts.
It all happened hours before her wedding when she escorted a friend to the bus stop in the wee hours of dawn.
On her way back, she got way laid by three men who were in an already waiting car. She was whisked inside the car and sandwiched between them as they gagged her using a piece of cloth.
Sadly, they never hesitated to abuse her woman hood as they took turns to rape her while the car was still in motion.
Terry felt stings of pain knowing too well that all this was happening during her wedding day and when she let out a loud scream, “it’s my wedding day”; she was clobbered senseless.
The notion of two men forcing herself on her too hard to bear, she bit off one of them in his manhood before she was stabbed in the stomach and thrown out of the moving car.
She fell unconscious at the roadside. Lucky for her, a young child saw her and she quickly raised alarm and people milled around her wondering what could have happened to her.
She was later wheeled to the hospital. At this point, she says, her family, as well as that of her husband-to-be, was in panic since it was late and she had not showed up at All Saints Cathedral where the wedding was to take place.
A nurse at the hospital called the Church and informed them what had happened. Tragically, the stab wound went too deep that it touched her womb-she would never carry a baby!
But this did not stop Terry from marrying her fiancée Harry. She got married to him after recovering from her harrowing experience.
But as fate would again have it, 29 days after marriage, Harry lit a charcoal burner and placed it in their bedroom to give warmth.
He later removed it and they ducked in the sheets and hit the sack. But at this point, Harry had started complaining of dizziness.
Hours later, Terry woke up feeling weak and tried to call out Harry but he would not respond. He had passed on due to inhaling the carbon monoxide emitted by the charcoal burner.
Three years later, another man Tonny Gobanga came to Terry’s life and he proposed to marry her in spite of whatever she had gone through.
And a year after their marriage, she got pregnant. Four years later, they got another baby girl.
