After a pronouncement by National Super Alliance (NASA) leadership to set up a parallel tallying center and consequently announce election results, the opposition outfit has reneged on the plan.

Instead, NASA will set up polling center committees across all the 45, 000 polling centers as divulged by NASA affiliate and Wiper Party boss Kalonzo Musyoka.

This follows a closed door meeting between the four NASA leaders; Raila Odinga (ODM), Moses Wetangula (Ford Kenya) and Musalia Mudavadi (ANC) in Coast a few days ago.

According to Mr. Musyoka, the committee will tally results at the polling station as Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) conveys them.

“The committee will relay the results announced by IEBC to the coalition’s central tallying center,” said the Wiper Party boss. “This will make it difficult to change the results after the final figures are released,” centers added.

“This will make it difficult to change the results after the final figures are released.” he added.

Respective Chairs of the polling center committee will stay in touch with the leaders informing them of the ongoing at the respective tallying centers which according to Mr. Musyoka, will cap rigging.

Results announced at the polling centres will be deemed to be final results.

NASA’s turnaround plan comes after holding a meeting with IEBC over their bid to set up a parallel tallying centre and consequently announce election results.

Should have they gone on with the plan, they would have been in contravention of the law as the Constitution has only mandated IEBC as the only organ to announce election results.
