In an interesting turn of events, President Uhuru Kenyatta is being accused of hosting “imposters” at State House on Tuesday.

This new revelation comes as Nomiya Church Archbishop Moses Okech said those who visited State House using his Church’s name were “impostors”.

Nomiya is a Church based in Nyanza

“The Nomiya Church Synod wishes to clarify that the group of imposters who visited State House yesterday allegedly to endorse Uhuru Kenyatta for the Presidency neither constitute the leadership of the Church nor represent the views of the Nomiya Church fraternity,” said the archbishop in a statement.

The group that Visited Uhuru had been led by Eng Caleb Olali who Okech said does not hold any position in the Church hierarchy.

“Eng Caleb Olali who led the delegation does not hold any position in the church hierarchy.”

Okech said he took over the Church leadership after former archbishop Gideon Charles Owalo passed on.

Okech also trained his guns on Jubilee Secretary General Raphael Tuju for allegedly organizing the meeting yet he is not even a follower of the Church.

“Raphael Tuju we understand arranged the meeting and is not even a member of the Church either,” he said.

He also warned that the Church would take legal action against anyone using the name of the Church to advance a political agenda.

Oketch noted that Nomiya is not affiliated to any faction because it respects the fact that its followers have a right to support a political faction of their choice without the Church coercing them to take a certain political stand.

During the visit, Uhuru urged the faithful to preach peace during this electioneering period.

In turn, they pledged to support his re-election bid noting he has done a good job since he took office in 2013.
