The opposition is leaving nothing to chance in its “liberation bid” and has since written to the Registrar of Political Parties seeking reservation of the name “National Resistance Movement”.

In a letter to the registrar Lucy Ndungu on Monday, reports the Star, the opposition through lawyer Kevin Njihia asked her to reserve the name so as to enable its registration as a political party.

Raila Odinga a week ago announced the National Super Alliance (NASA) was transiting to a rebel movement, National Resistance Movement (NRM).

He said it will steer civil resistance against “oppressive” Jubilee regime.

NRM’s aim is to push for reforms especially in the electoral sector.

Raila said it is only through a resistance movement that historic electoral injustices can be cured.

“We start a battle for electoral justice where we have credible election,” said the former Prime Minister in relation to the concluded repeat Presidential election.

Primarily, the opposition through NRM will look into “systemic pitfall in the electoral system” and find a solution to it once and for all.

Raila maintained NRM will be the driving force to liberate Kenya from the hands of Jubilee leaders led by President Uhuru Kenyatta.

He has accused Jubilee of failing to end poverty, political strife, corruption and abetting electoral injustices.
