Raila’s nine-point plan to counter Uhuru’s victory

Opposition Leader Raila Odinga has finally spoken about President Uhuru Kenyatta’s victory in the October 26 repeat presidential election.

He says he does not recognize it adding he will continue pushing for radical changes in the governance sector.

He addressed the nation on Tuesday where he set out a nine-point plan to counter Uhuru’s governance.

Uhuru was declared by the national returning officer, IEBC Chair Wafula Chebukati as the winner of October 26 repeat polls after garnering 7, 483, 895 votes.

Raila managed 73, 228 votes although he insists he had officially withdrawn from the race.

ODM Director of Elections and Suna East MP Junet Mohammed broke down the plan and posted it on his facebook page.

It is as follows:

  • ·         We do not recognize the Uhuru election.
  • ·         Resistance is on, with a National Resistance Wing now an organ of NASA just like Umkhonto we Ziswe for ANC.
  • ·         There will be boycott of products of companies sympathetic to Jubilee
  • ·         The National Resistance Wing will convene and identify the products and companies to be boycotted
  • ·         The resistance wing will also roll out a program defiance in the way it sees fit
  • ·         A people’s Assembly will convene to agree on how Kenya holds credible elections. It’s resolutions to be implemented by NASA and the Resistance Wing.
  • ·         County Assemblies to pass motions and resolutions for the establishment of a People’s Assembly and commit to implement the Assembly resolutions.
  • ·         NASA ready to dialogue on the holding of free and fair election.
  • ·         NASA retains the right to hold to hold protest and demonstrations and will resume any time it deems necessary

Raila in his address said NASA will have two organs-NASA as the political coalition and National Resistance Movement (NRM).

He said the two organs will work in tandem to ensure that set agenda by the opposition is implemented.

Raila will employ use of People’s Assembly comprising elected leaders and civil society to support NRM and push for change.

The opposition Chief maintains there will be fresh elections within 90 days.

But Jubilee and the IEBC have spoken against this saying the only polls recognized by the law are October 26 repeat presidential elections that have since been concluded.
