South Africa’s Advtech to build international school in Tatu City

South Africa’s Sandton based private education firm, Advtech is set to open a school under its Crawford brand of schools in Tatu City, Kiambu County.

Advtech will build Crawford International School in Tatu City where it has already purchased land.

The school will have a kindergarten, primary school and a secondary school. It will in addition have boarding facilities for senior students.

Advtech’s head of international development Jaco Lotz said the company is growing its base in the African school market.

“Advtech rapidly growing its African footprint, both in the private school and private university sector across Africa, and is delighted to find a home at Tatu City,” he said as quoted by Business Daily.

Crawford International Schools in South Africa offers the Victorian Certificate of Equivalence which is an Australian qualification equal to the Britush A-Levels.

The company has tapped into a growing market which has grown due to demand by wealthy Kenyans, expatriates and foreign envoys whose kids attend high-end schools.

Besides Kenya’s established Hillcrest group of international school, St Andrew’s Turi and Brookhouse, South Africa’s Nova Pioneer international school and Beirut’s Sabis have also found their way into the market.

Advtech also runs Centurius, Abotts, Junior andTrinityhouse colleges under its brand.

In South Africa, it has 90 schools and also runs a staff training and placement company in the country.
