Golf playing could be introduced in all public schools if a thought by President Uhuru Kenyatta is anything to go by.
On Tuesday, the President while presenting the national flag to Kenya’s national boys and girls golf team at State House said if golf is introduced in public schools, it will develop the sport.
Kenya, national boys and girls golf team will fly out on Saturday for Casablanca for the All Africa Junior Gold Championship.
Uhuru urged the ministries of Sports and Heritage, Education and Interior to finalize on development of a curriculum geared towards introducing golf as a sport in public schools.
In Kenya and also in many other parts of the world, Golf playing is considered to be a preserve for rich in society.
The team that will be in Casablanca for one week-from March 3 to March 10, was wished well by the President.
“As you go abroad with my blessings and my best wishes, express yourselves. Let your talent shine,” said the President according to Nairobi News.
Kenya is among 18 countries that will be participating in the championships in Morocoo.
