The High Court in Mombasa has upheld the election of Nyali MP Mohammed Ali.

Said Abdalla who vied for the same seat on an ODM ticket had challenged Ali’s victory.

On Friday, Justice Lydia Achode ruled that Ali’s election was within the confines of the law and ordered the petitioner to pay Sh7 million in cost.

He vied as an independent candidate and trounced Said who is Joho’s cousin.

Ali, a former investigative journalist in his address to the press outside the court said he thanks God for a second round of victory.

He lashed out at Mombasa Governor Hassan Joho and his brother Abur Joho saying that they have effortlessly tried to circumvent the will of Nyali people but they have failed gallantly.
