Hard times continue to hit Kiambu Governor William Kabogo as the High Court on Monday ordered him to pay his nemesis Ferdinand Waititu sh5.3 million in a case he was challenging Waititu’s academic credentials.

The order was issued by Milimani deputy registrar Sharon Mwayuli after Kabogo’s petition was dismissed by the court.

Kabogo was challenging Waititu’s degree which he says he obtained from Punjab University in India.

Waititu won the case in December last year after the High Court ruled that it lacked jurisdiction to be engaged in the case.

According to the Star, Waititu moved to court in January in a bid to compel Kabogo to pay up sh50, 960,422  which he says is the total amount since March 14, 2014 to date.

Through his lawyer Harrison Kinyanjui, Waititu argued the cost befits what he has footed throughout the course of the case.

“…the amount of work he devoted to the proceedings and the time he consumed researching and doing follow-ups,” his lawyer told the court in one of his arguments.

Kabogo had moved to court in a bid to block Waititu from vying for Governorship in Kiambu County.

He accused him of using his brother’s academic credentials which amount to identity theft.
